Oneita Montgomery Parsons

OneitaParsons-smallRuby Oneita Montgomery, daughter of Arthur Cornelius Montgomery and Georgie Conn Montgomery, was a lifelong resident of Somerville, Tennessee, Fayette County. She was a graduate of Fayette County High School and continued her education at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. She married Herbert Parsons on July 16, 1932, and was the beloved mother of Jerry and Lynn.

A member of the Somerville First Presbyterian Church since age 10, she was one of its oldest members at the time of her death. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed music throughout her life.

Mrs.. Parsons was a dedicated homemaker for her family. She also served as manager of her family owned farming and real estate interests in Fayette County. She was a excellent cook especially of the wild game harvested by her family of hunters.

Many of her best recipes remain in the Parsons family.
